'... when the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed and the fever of  life is over and our work is done. Then Lord in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen.' Cardinal Newman

Whatever the circumstances of the death, we celebrate funerals with prayers of faith, hope and love: to thank God for the life of the person who has died and who now begins a new and eternal life; to pray that the promises of Christ will be fulfilled for that person; and to comfort the family and friends who have been seperated from their loved one.

Don't worry if you are unsure what to do, we are here to help you and can provide you with all the information you need.

It is best if you can get in touch with us as soon as possible to check the availability of Fr Michael or Deacon Mark, both of whom also have other places of work. This should be done before the Crematorium is booked, announcements placed in the papers or invitations sent out.

We can also provide on-going care. We have two parishioners who have received training befriending those who have been bereaved. Please speak to one of us if you think this would be helpful.
